Career

We spend so much of our day, and life, working — so if we aren’t intentional about setting goals around where we want to be and how we’ll get there, we can end up quite unhappy, unmotivated, and frustrated.  There were points in my finance career when I knew I wasn’t showing up at work as my best self. I felt burnt out because I was in a role that didn’t afford me the balance I needed to maintain my mental and physical health. Deep down, I knew I wasn’t passionate about the work I was doing and hence, I wasn’t giving it 100%. I wasn’t navigating my career smartly because I was sticking with a work lifestyle that didn’t support my needs. I wasn’t advocating for myself because I wasn’t setting career goals aligned with my values and growth ambitions.

Being intentional about navigating your career is important for a number of reasons. First and foremost, it helps you to achieve your goals and ultimately achieve success in your field. By being proactive and taking control of your career development, you can make sure that you are on the right track and you are making progress toward your long-term aspirations — including building personal wealth through promotions and career advancement. It puts the power in your hands to control your destiny.

“Your career isn’t just about what you’re contributing to at the company you work for, but more importantly, it’s about how you’re leveraging your skills and talents to give back to the world.” – Nancy Twine

Being intentional about your career can also help you feel more fulfilled and satisfied in your work. When you have a clear sense of direction and purpose, you are more likely to feel motivated and authentically engaged. This can lead to a more positive work experience and can help you build a sense of accomplishment and pride in your professional achievements. Your career isn’t just about what you’re contributing to at the company you work for, but more importantly, it’s about how you’re leveraging your skills and talents to give back to the world.

Finally, being intentional about your career can also help you make valuable connections and build a strong professional network. By actively seeking opportunities to learn and grow, you expose yourself to new ideas and people, which can help you build a strong foundation for your career. So much of my ability to grow and learn as an entrepreneur was through expanding my network and being able to tap into the right people while I was navigating new challenges and opportunities. A strong network and relationships are critical to making the most of your career potential. Being intentional about how you navigate your career can help you to achieve greater success, wealth, fulfillment and satisfaction in your professional life.

I look forward to supporting your career journey by sharing my experiences and tapping into insights from my network of friends and experts who have achieved major success.
